The story

The story

Sum up :

In the night between the 14th and the 15th April 1912, the liner Titanic, which had left three days earlier the port of Cherbourg to reach New-York hit an enormous iceberg. This giant, the biggest ship in the world at that period, sank into the deep water within a few hours. Only 712 persons out of the 2229 passengers and members of the crew who were on board of the Titanic, were saved. This sea disaster is the most tragic one we have ever known in the history of navigation in peacetime.

The drama of the Titanic has been recreated in a scrupulous accordance with truth, in a film directed by the 20th Century-Fox. All sea details, conversations, incidents and facts have been taken from all reports issued during the inquiry made in 1912 by the Congress of the United States and the British ministry of Commerce.

This story, as this film inspired it, doesn’t come from imagination but must be considered as a true recreation of one of the biggest dramas which plunged the first part of our century into mourning.

Information :
the model of the film was made on a scale of 1/20ème and can be seen at the "Northtown Shopping Mall" in Blaine in Minnesota.
