Information :
While he was making “Une femme disparaît” in Great Britain, he received a telegram from David O'SELZNICK offering him to come and make a film for him, inspired by the sinking of the Titanic.
A. HITCHCOCK didn’t need persuading to accept this proposal: « I wasn’t attracted by Hollywood itself as a place, he said, what I wanted was to come into the studios to work there”.
Unfortunately ! When he arrives, D. O'SELZNICK had changed his mind. Instead of the Titanic on which he had already started to work, he made “Rebecca”.
The Titanic by HITCHCOCK fell into the water, if we dare say so!
