Summer 1907 : LONDON

Esquisse officielle du projet OLYMPIC & TITANIC
It is at the announcement of the next commissioning of the liner Lusitania of the Cunard, that J. B. ISMAY goes one evening to Lord W. J. PIRRIE. He lives in the upscale Belgravia district of London in a residence called Downshire House.
It was during the dinner that they would have decided to start the construction of two giant ships, the Olympic and the Titanic, followed later by a third, the Gigantic which eventually became the Britannic.
During this period, the Harland & Wolff shipyards in Ireland were profoundly redesigned in order to begin the construction of the first two transatlantics. It is necessary to build two special wedges, adapted to the gigantic dimensions of the two future mastodons.
